Tin and Taco- For the Foodie and Instagrammer

Taco Tuesday has become my favorite day of the week. So much so, my friends consider it my weekly holiday. Every Tuesday you’ll find me somewhere eating tacos and enjoying a an ice cold beverage! My friends had recommended I check out Orlando’s Tin and Taco, and I was SO excited to finally try them out!

Things that first caught my eye:

  • Instagram worthy backgrounds(1) there’s a grass wall right as you walk in that has a red neon lit sign that says “TACO DIRTY TO ME” (2) a large rustic painted wall in the back that says “TIN & TACO EST. 2017” (3) a modern painted picture of Orlando that says “HECHO EN ORLANDO”

  • Daily Happy Hour – Mon thru Fri from 3PM – 6PM, you can get $2.99 Craft Tacos (excluding tuna/shrimp), $3.49 12oz Craft Beers + Craft Margaritas, + $4.49 16oz Beers

  • Draft Soda Machine – they have a “STUBBORN” machine with draft handles instead of your traditional Coca Cola soda dispenser. Love that you can do it yourself, and love the flavor options even more! Draft Cola, Citrus Hibiscus Orange, and Black Cherry just to name a few

I was so excited to learn why they call it Tin and Taco… they specialize in canned beers, seltzers, sangria, and even wine. Tin (can) and taco (or two or three) and you’ve got the gist of it! They offer 50+ different local types of beers, so you won’t find any Coors or Bud Lights here! With brands like Bold Rock, Sweet Water, MIA, Reef Monkey, KONA, Tiamo + Dark Horse wine, they truly demonstrate their love for Craft Drinks.

I was (somewhat) disappointed when I came for my first visit and there was a posted sign saying “Sorry, we’re out of our vegetarian option.” I have mixed feelings about this because on one hand, yeah I’m upset that I don’t get to have any, but on the other hand, it means the product is so popular they ran out! It makes me so happy to see businesses supporting the vegan lifestyle, and even more that other people are taking part in vegan eating.

I was delighted when Jordan, the super nice guy working the counter, recommended some other yummy vegan options available. I opted for the most popular option- “Al Pastor Style” with no meat and no cheese. It was a perfectly sunshiny Florida afternoon, so the fruit was a great refreshing option for me. Shredded lettuce, Pico de Gallo, fresh cut pineapple, and extra mango-pineapple vinaigrette.

My friend was excited to indulge in some carnivorous tacos himself, and they looked BOMB! The Pork on Fire had smoked pulled pork, fried jalapenos, pico de gallo, ancho chipotle sauce, pickled onions, cotija cheese, and cilantro. The Steakout had carne asada, pico de gallo, toasted sesame & wasabi oil, house pickled onions, and cotija cheese. Two tacos was definitely a filling amount of food, they’re not just snack sized. I can’t wait to come back and get my taco on, too!

Tin and Taco opened in 2017 with it’s first location in downtown Orlando. Their motto is “Craft Tacos. Craft Beer. Craft Soda.” and they sure do showcase that! Each location has a unique but similar style- a long layout with a cozy atmosphere. I love that their ingredients are super fresh and colorful, plus they make everything in house daily. They currently have 6 stores in and around Orlando now, with the 7th opening soon!
