NEW! Vegan ButterBeer - The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Universal Studios

For the first time in US history, Universal Studios is now offering Butterbeer without the creamy foam topping as a dairy-free alternative!

After all these years, I finally tried butterbeer and I absolutely loved it! I picked the frozen kind to try first, it was almost like a caramel-cream-sicle... and extremely refreshing with the Florida summer heat. The thick icy texture made it taste like a dessert- a little lighter than a frappuccino. I can't wait to try the hot butterbeer once the colder weather comes, too. This is ground breaking, you all!!!

J. K. Rowling (author of The Harry Potter series) has been very specific in every little detail from Harry Potter at Universal Studios- she wanted everything to match her books impeccably. This totally makes sense, but for vegans and non-dairy folks, we have always wanted to try butterbeer! This has been one of the most popular things to try while visiting Universal Studios since their opening in 2010. Seeing that no butterbeers from The Harry Potter series were vegan-friendly, it is a HUGE deal that they are now offering this option.

I remember forcing my Disney-obsessed family to visit Universal Studios for the first time in 2011 (I have always been a huge fan of all things Harry Potter), and posing with a butterbeer because that's just what you were supposed to do. I come from one of those Disney cliche families, but I became a Universal Annual Passholder when I moved to Orlando last year.

I love that I can go for a few hours a day- the fun rides, exciting characters, and most of all visiting Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. I've tried other vegan-friendly options around The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - like Otter's Fizzy Orange Juice- but butterbeer by far is my new favorite.

You can find this treat at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Have you ever tried butterbeer- and do you like it frozen or hot?
