Cheba Hut – Newest Location – UCF

Let me tell you how WHY you need to check out Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs. The thing I loved most was the vibe of the restaurant. Not only did they have delicious, healthy food to keep my energy up, but there was a ‘chill’ sense of energy in the atmosphere… and everyone was extremely happy.
A few major thing that caught my eye:
I love that they have a Kool-Aid machine! 90’s are coming back in fashion, and Cheba Hut sells more of this than any other restaurant
Wall art. From bumper stickers to murals and canvas art, it was so entertaining to look around.
There is no employee uniform. I also found out that employees eat for free, too! I love a company that shows their love and support for not only their customers, but their hard working employees
Their “toasted” jokes and art throughout the store
Happy Hour starts at 4:20 and ends at 7:10 Monday – Friday
Freshness. Their bread was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Guacamole and Munchies are made fresh in house every single day
I was delighted to find out their Wheat bread is vegan and they had a an entire ‘veggie’ section on their menu. I always like to ask what’s most popular, and they recommended the Magic Mushroom and Power Plant as the best veggie options. The subs came in 3 sizes: 4′ nug, 8′ pinner, and 12′ blunt. They also have three different bread types; white, wheat, + signature garlic herb.
I ordered my Blunt sized Power Plant for me and a Blunt Sized White Widow for my mom to-go, grabbed a seat at the bar, and enjoyed some Blue Razberry Kool-Aid while I waited. They had 12+ beers on draft, cans + bottles of beer, wine, Truly, and Cutwater canned cocktails. The Rum Mint Mojito sounded good, so I got one with my sub.
My eyes lit up like Christmas when my sub came out! Guacamole, hummus, spring mix, tomato, onion, pickle, cucumber, black olives, green bell peppers, and jalapeño (cilantro) hummus on a delicious looking piece of bread. As much as I loved the veggies (and Guac), the bread was my absolute favorite part. Their Parisian bread is hand rolled, hand-scored, and baked by a bakery that has been in business for 50+ years. The mojito was a very nice pairing for my lightweight sub!
My mom had to work late and she was so excited I brought her dinner. Her White Widow had grilled chicken breast, bacon, ranch, shrooms, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and Shake & House dressing. I loved their take out packaging and loved even more that the sub still looked perfect after an hour drive to see my mother. I even brought her some munchies- one of their infamous Goo Balls- krispies, peanut butter, cocoa, honey, butter, and marshmallows.
This location is across from UCF, right next to the Alfaya Library. Whether you’re looking to cure your munchies or just enjoy a delicious meal, Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs has something you’ll love.
